El Salvador. Santa Ana. Close to the Hacienda San Diego which lies about 3 km. south of the town of Metapan in low hills to the east of Lago de Guija. Alt. 450m. (1476 ft.)

Description:

Large tree to 20 m. ht. with a spreading crown and heavy branching; dbh 1 m. Bark dark blackish grey with shallow vertical fissuring and horizontal stretch marks. Foliage recently flushed and immature feathery, delicate mid green. Abundant flowers with a heady sweet scent, corolla and calyx greenish yellow stamen filaments cream-white, anthers yellowish. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Scattered in pastures and fencelines in an area of highly degraded dry forest with Albizia caribaea, Swietenia humilis, Cordia and Thoudinidium decandrum. Frequent.
