Description:

Less pubescent than H. moscheutos, the leaves less pubescent below and deeper green and glabrous above; narrower, more acuminate and more sharpely and deeply three lobed than in moscheutos. Stem petioles.... Flowers smaller than in moscheutos or rather not becoming as large (6-7.5 cm long corolla), shorter peduncle, peduncle 2-4 cm long, on moscheutos 4-8 cm. Capsules the longest 5 cm, in moscheutos 11 cm. Young capsul smaller and garduated to a point instead of rounded and ... at apex as in moscheutos, teh angles of the cells less rounded and produced and less sulcate between as in moscheutos. The dried valve 7-9 mm wide, 17-20 mm long, graduated to a sharp point, in moscheutos 15-17 mm wide, 20-25 mm long, almost constricted to a mucronate point and much more rounded. Phenology of specimen: Fertile, Fruit.
