Stems clustered, 1 m tall. Sheaths fibrous; ocreas to 10 cm long; petioles 80 cm long; blades 57 cm wide, divided into 7-8 segments, some (on younger leaves) with central segment petiolulate. Inflorescences short, amongst leaf bases; fruits bright red, gl.
