Description:

Stems solitary or with basal shoots, 50 cm tall (other stems to 2 m tall), 4 cm diameter. Leaves 18; sheaths with 20 cm long, narrow ocreas; petioles 136 cm long; blades 80 cm across, split to the base into 12 segments, these more or less equal in length, the middle one not split, not petiolulate. Inflorescences with 2-4 partial, spicate inflorescences; fruits ripening from green to yellow to bright red. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
Habitat:

Seasonally flooded lowland forerst.
