Description:

Stems solitary, acaulescent (others near houses with stems to 1.5 m tall and covered with persistent leaf bases). Leaves 20; petioles 160 cm long, spiny throughout with dark brown spines; blades 127 cm across, split to the base into 18 segments, these again split for 28 cm, the central segment petiolulate. Inflorescences erect, elongate, reaching far above leaves, to 340 cm long, with 11 branched partial infloresences; flower whitish-yellow. Phenology of specimen: Fertile.
