Description:

20" diam. tree 100' high. unbuttressed, bark grooved - lvs. young, chartaceous - fls. subsessile in short lateral spikes, sometimes leafy - buds glossy green, turning pale yellow just before opening - petals white to pale cream, flushed lilac or violet at tip - androphorum white, emarginate. Seeds and fruit cap also collected. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
