Description:

herb. Herb 1.5-2 m, inflorescence bracts red on exposed parts, dark on unexposed parts, callus at apex, bracteole 2.5 cm long, folded, dark red, tip green, calyx 1.5 cm long, 3-lobed, dark red, lobes green, corolla 4.5-5.5 cm (plus 2.5 cm tube) long, labellum 5.5 cm wide, white with yellow center, creulate, stamen 4.8 cm long, white tinged with pink, center a little yellow. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Inundated area (this plant half under water).
