Description:

Low-branching sterile tree ca. 4 m. tall. Stems armed; leaves with pair of thorns just below pulvini. Leaflets deltoid. Inflorescences flagelliform with ascendent tips; axes marcescent giving stagheaded look to plant. Corolla carmine. Hybrid between Erythrina humeana Spr. and Erythrina herbacea L., cultivated in the Medicinal Section. [Accession] No. 900217.001. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
