Description:

Stems solitary, short and subterranean. Leaves 8; sheaths subterranean; petioles 155 cm long, spiny on basal 20 cm only; blades 70 cm wide with 10-11 segments. Inflorescences short and borne at and amongst leaf bases, 40 cm long.

Habitat:

steep slope in forest near road.
