Brazil. Bahia. Serra do Rio de Contas. Ca. 1km south of small town of Mato Grosso on the road to Vila do Rio de Contas. Alt. 1200 m. (3937 ft.)

Description:

Viscid shrub to 1m. Leaves pale green, paler beneath with slightly tawny tinge. Corolla pale purple, anthers yellow, fruit dark green, turning scarlet. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.

Habitat:

Sandstone rock outcrops with small area of disturbed marsh at base, and nearby river with lush vegetation along rocky margins.
