Vine. Flowers yellow. Fruit orange, the ripe ones splitting and with bright red pulp around the seeds.

Habitat:
On soil mound, probably above most of the flooding. Disturbed area along shallow drainage ditch between road and fields, the ditch mostly leaving recently dried soil, but some water still in the deeper part. Very flat, silty soil, mostly cleared of forest for fields of Saccharum officinarum, Glycine max.
