Chrysobalanaceae
Discussion:
This rather common species of the Guayana Highland and the sandy caatingas of the upper Rio Negro is interesting because in several collections (for example Huber 10313 and 10875) most of the leaves are opposite. It is the only species of Chrysobalanaceae known to have opposite leaves.
