Description:
Species Description - Rootstocks large, fleshy, a well-known vegetable. Stems glabrous or nearly so, trailing, 1 m. long or longer. Leaves various, ovate to suborbicular, entire, dentate or lobed, acuminate at the apex, cordate at the base, 5-15 cm. long; peduncles as long as the petioles or shorter, few-flowered; sepals oblong, acute, cuspidate, somewhat unequal, 7-10 mm. long; corolla pale purple or nearly white, about 5 cm. long; ovary and capsule 2-celled; seeds glabrous.
