Description:

Species Description - Perennials, branching below and rooting at nodes, erect portions 70-100 cm tall. Leaves: blade 15-20 X 1.5-2 cm, lanceolate-ovate. Inflorescences 23-35 cm long, the primary branches slender, 13-20 cm long, spreading, in loose fascicles of 2-4. Spikelets 4.5-5 mm long, the upper floret ca. 3.5 mm long, narrowly lanceolate, borne on a stout, 0.5 mm long rachilla internode producing a pair of fleshy, lanceolate appendages 0.8-1 mm long and adnate and appressed to basal margins of lemma.
