Description:
Genus Description - Epiphytes with ovoid or elliptic-oblong pseudobulbs concealed by conduplicate, imbricate bases of conspicuous, foliaceous bracts. Leaves one per pseudobulb, linear-oblong, at apex of pseudobulb, coriaceous, ligulate to elliptic-lanceolate, obtuse to acute. Inflorescences 1 to several, arching to pendent racemes from axils of foliaceous bracts. Flowers few to many, showy; dorsal sepal free, concave, petaloid, the lateral sepals usually connate for entire length; petals subequal to dorsal sepal; lip clawed, obovate to obcordate, produced into short spur appressed to ovary; column subcylindric, erect; pollinia 2, waxy.
