Description:
Species Description - Caespitose epiphytes with secondary stems to 15 cm long. Leaves ovate-elliptic, acute, to 10 X 4 cm. Inflorescences several racemes from bases of leaves, laxly arching-pendent, as long as or slightly longer than leaves. Flowers dark purple; dorsal sepal broadly lanceolate, subacute, concave, 7 X 2.5 mm, the lateral sepals connate for their entire length, the resulting structure ovate, subacute, strongly concave, 6.5 X 5 mm; petals linear, 5 X 0.5 mm; lip 3-lobed, rigid, the lateral lobes erect and clasping column, the midlobe apiculate, 1.8 X 2 mm; column to 1.5 mm. Fl (May, Jan, Jul). This species has been known as P. penduliflora auct. non Kraenzlin.
