Genus Description - Plants epiphytic. Rhizomes generally long-creeping, with fronds regularly spaced or aggregated toward apex, covered by brown scales, these bicolorous in many species. Fronds simple, linear, lanceolate, or elliptic, coriaceous or membranous, the scales confined to midrib; veins of 2 types depending on size of frond, the fronds >6 cm long with prominent veins and well-developed tertiary veins, the fronds <6 cm long without prominent veins and without well-developed tertiary veins, the secondary veins usually sinuous. Sori round, in 1 or 2 rows between secondary veins.
