Description:
Description - Plant stemless. Leaves to 45 cm long, exceeding the inflorescence, subdensely lepidote with brown appressed scales, sheaths elliptic, 8-10 cm long, dark castaneous, blades ligulate, acuminate, 25 mm wide, flat, green. Scape erect, short; scape-bracts strict, densely imbricate, foliaceous, the upper ones roseate. Inflorescence bipinnate, 15 cm long; primary bracts broadly ovate with a subtriangular blade, erect, much exceeding the few-flowered fascicles, roseate with a castaneous base. Floral bracts lanceolate, inflexed at the apex, exceeding the sepals, their apical third pale brown and subchartaceous, elsewhere castaneous and coriaceous; flowers subsessile. Sepals like the floral bracts, 20 mm long, free.
