Description:

Shrub to 3 m with spindly stems. Leaves mid-green above, pale beneath. Inflorescence axis dark, sepals reddish-purple. Corolla bright orange-red. Anthers whitish. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

High restinga forest, partly cut over with some lower shrubby disturbed vegetation by roadside.
