Description:

Small tree 10 m. high, 12 cm. DBH. Bark gray, smoothish, slightly fissured, lichen patches. Trunk with scattered stout spines. 7 mm. long, brown to gray. Young flr. buds green. Immature frts. globose, green, 3-4 cm. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
Habitat:

Wet tropical forest of Amazon basin. Common.
