Description:

Very spiny under shrub 50-100 cm. Fls. mauve. [Additional label attached to sheet: "Spiny undershrub, 50-100 cm. high. Low campo lomas. Flower: corolla mauve; anthers orange-yellow; calyx dark green, with pale yellowy-green lobes; pedicel pale violet-green. Fruit spherical, 2.5-3.5 cm. diam., very pale yellowy-green with dark green branched, longitudinal lines. Leaf dark yellowy-green, pale whitish-green beneath. Stem pale yellowy-green; spines pale yellow to dark purple-brown."]. Phenology of specimen: Flower, Fruit.
