Description:

Tree 6 m. tall, 15 cm. in diameter; bark shallowly furrowed. Fruit dark purple. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.
Habitat:

Short forest and "cerrado" alternating on nearly level terrain over precambrian shield; most trees less than 12 m. tall, with Scheelea and Orbignya palms.
