Description:

Each plant erect, single-stemmed and the root system sending out 4 to 6 somewhat fleshy, straight, unbranched runners, ca. 3 cm. below the ground surface, with only a few rootlets, occasionally sending down a "sinker" and with 1 to 2 erect sprouts, but these not breaking out into the open yet and partly purple-pigmented, some of the runners followed for 1.5 m. but others probably went further. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
