Description:

terrestrial herb. Herb, shoots to 3.8 m long, inflorescences arising from ground, bracts red, becoming darker red, calyx red, corolla yellow. Few flowers open. On steep slope. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Primary forest on steeply hilly terrain, parts of non-inundated areas reportedly regenerating from arborescent bamboo die-back two years ago.
