Description:

Tree, to 15 m tall. Flowers blue. Common along Rio Juruá, rare along tributaries. Base submerged at high water. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Moist terra firme forest on Tertiary sediments. Terrain hilly, dissected by deep, narrow stream beds.
