Description:

Spindly much-branched shrub to 2 m. with slender brittle stems. Leaves rather dull pale green, paler beneath with red-tinged petiole. Calyx with green tube, tinged red, sepal limb red. Petals rather pale bluish-magenta. Stamens entirely pale magenta except for white porose tip. Style reddish-purple, stigma pale. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Mixed restinga with high forest, bushy areas, damp open ground and marsh. This plant growing in wet places.
