Description:

Small shrub-like tree 20 feet high; stem branched from the middle or below that, 6 inches thick; wood whitish, soft, without odor or taste, concentric grains conspicuous; bark smooth, mottled; branches crookedly re-branched; leaves horizontally spreading, flat or only recurved towards the apex, chartaceous, very deep green above, much lighter beneath; figs clustered in the leaf axils, subtended by green bracts besides the involucra, flattened globose ¾ inch across, dark green with minute pale white lenticels, delicately pubescent.

in fertile soil of woods skirting small streams.
