Description:

Climbing bamboo with solid culms that creep along the forest floor, rooting and branching at the nodes, sending up new shoots that climb into the trees, rebranch, eventually covering the trees and hanging from them. Culms scabrous. Culm leaves: sheath scabrous, extending beyond the succeeding node; blade narrow, erect. Foliage wilts almost immediately after the soft culm is severed. Only one branch in flower. Phenology of specimen: Sterile.
