Georeferencing Method: Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Version 2012 (Could not locate a road called "BR 5" using all available online resources and paper maps (printed close to the date of collection). However, because only one major road can be found 16 km south from the city of Eunápolis, BR 101 which departs from Eunápolis heading south, it could be determined that BR 101 must be synonymous with BR 5 for the span of highway relevant to this collection. Therefore, georeferenced to 16 S along BR 101 from the city of Eunápolis, in Mun. Eunápolis, Bahia. Using Google Maps - Satellite View, located the city of Eunápolis and BR 101. Beginning at the point along BR 101 closest to the approximate geographic center of the city of Eunápolis (-16.366345, -39.582506), used Google Maps - Measure Distance tool to measure approximately 16 km (16.0000 km) S along BR 101. Using Google Maps - What's Here tool, found coordinates (final) for the offset. Using Measure Distance tool again, found the linear extent of the starting location of the offset, the city of Eunápolis, by measuring from the selected starting coordinates along BR 101 to the farthest extent of the town (-16.396633, -39.580260). Input linear extent (3.37625 km), coordinate precision (0.00001 degrees), datum (WGS 84), distance precision (1 km), and measurement error (0.00025 km) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to the Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset along a path).)
Coordinate Uncertainty(m): 3878
Geodetic Datum: WGS84
