Description:

Terrestrial herb, to 1 m tall. Stem internode regions swollen; alternating purple and green. Calyx dark red; corolla dark red with purple lobes; dorsal keel on corolla tube present (note: fruit for this species is described on JLC # 8498).

Habitat:

Wet premontane/cloud forest.
