Description:

Terrestrial herb, 40-50 cm tall. Stems quadrangular and winged. Fruit erect; valves bright red and reflexed; seeds embedded in succulent blue funiculi. Calyx dark green and persistent in fruit.
Habitat:

Premontane wet forest.
