Ecuador. Carchi. Tulcán (Canton). Parroquia: Chical. Collection made along path from the village of Quinyal towards an area known locally as "Gualpi" (near the border of the Reserva Awa). Alt. 1200 - 1700 m. (3937 - 5577 ft.)

Description:

Shrub, 1 m tall. Flowers on portion of stem below leaves. Calyx lobes purple. Corolla tubular and red. Nectary on ventral surface. Flowers resupinate.
Habitat:

Evergreen montane/premontane wet forest.
