Ecuador. Esmeraldas. Quinindé (Canton). Reserva Ecológica Mache - Chindul. Bilsa Biological Station, 35 km W of Quinindé, 5 km W of Santa Isabel. Permanent plot #3. Alt. 400 - 600 m. (1312 - 1968 ft.)

Description:

Canopy tree, 30 m tall. This tree has a small crown and few branches. Branches are also extremely brittle and break easily (very dangerous to climb!). Leaves bullate and fragrant when crushed. Quadrat 5; Tree 2.

Premontane Wet Forest.
