Peru. Cusco. Quispicanchi Prov. Distrito: Camanti, Vitobamba, 5+ km SE of Quincemil, trail from main highway Quincemil-Cusco (highway Interoceánica - Transamazónica), Colina de Vitobamba, large hill on south side of road, property of Fernando Farro Pérez. Alt. 1103m. (3619 ft.)

Description:

Subhsrub, 1-2 m tall.
Habitat:

Mature forest on ridge line, canopy 15+ m tall, mosses and epiphytes abundant relative to forest at base of mountain.

Specimen Notes: USM; "Symbolanthus sp. "I have to think about - it is not obvious (and not incaicus)" Lena Struwe (Rutgers) "This is Symbolanthus, but certainly not S incaicus which is known from the region. It may be new and similar to material I collected in the Cusco regio
