Location:

Ecuador. Esmeraldas. Quinindé (Canton). The Mache-Chindul Ecological Reserve. Bilsa Biological Station. Mache Mountains, 35 km W of Quinindé, 5 km W of Santa Isabel. Along stream near the Station's shower. Alt. 400 - 600 m. (1312 - 1968 ft.)

Description:

Terrestrial. Stipe 2.7 m long. Leaves ternate, rachis 1.7 m long. Stipe with many spines, cross section obtusely and broadly sulcate, base 4 cm thick.
Habitat:

Mature and disturbed forest. Premontane Wet Forest.
