Description:

terrestrial shrub rooted in thick humus with branches arching to 2 m. leaves coriaceous, light green on both surfaces; inflorescence, in bud, with rachis, pedicels and calyx red. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

roadside slopes in wet forest area. infrequent.
