Description:

Cespitose palm, stems up to 2 m tall, covered with white flat spines with black tips. Petiole 30 cm long, round in section, rachis 1.5 m long. 12-14 pinnae per side, irregularly spaces, grouped by 2-4. Inflorescence infrafoliar. Peduncular bract 20 cm long covered in a few flat spines towards the apex, otherwise covered with a brown indumentum, peduncular bract papery in texture. Peduncle 10 cm long, rachis 15 cm long, rachillae 8-10, 10 cm long. Fruits dark purple.

Habitat:

On white sand, a few meters away from small river.
