Description:

terrestrial herb. Terrestrial herb, inflorescence bracts greenish-white, flowers pale dull orange. Several dense populations seen in moist shaded places by trail in upland forest; only one individual fertile. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Forest on gently undulating terrain, alternating between (1) dense forest with strong presence (but not dominance) of Guadua sarcocarpa that died back 22 years ago, and (2) "baixio" (forest in low-lying area with waterlogged soils). Frequent.
