Description:

Small tree to 3 m tall. Leaves glaucous beneath; calyx green, lobes suffused with purple; petals alternating rose to dark rose-red, petals erect and imbricate at anthesis; corolla viscid.

Habitat:

Heavily disturbed páramo & sub-páramo. Common.
