Description:

Small tree to 3 m tall. Leaves glaucous beneath; calyx green, lobes suffused with purple; petals alternating rose to dark rose-red, petals erect amd imbricate at anthesis.
Habitat:

Heavily disturbed páramo and sub-páramo. Common.
