Brazil. Acre. Assis Brasil Mun. Basin of Rio Purus, upper Rio Acre, left bank. Seringal Sao Francisco, Colônia Ipiranga.

Description:

Terrestrial herb, inflorescences erect, bracts dark green, flowers white tinged with violet. Occurring in dense populations. Few fertile.

Habitat:

Forest on relatively level terrain behind levee, flooded supra-annually. Canopy discontinuous in places, understory with high density of Heliconia and Marantaceae.
