The reference map shows that the approximate location of the waterfall is at the junction of Rio Trombetas and Rio Mapuera. Using the reference map and Google Maps - Satellite View, located Cachoeira Porteira. Used Canadensys Lat/Long Crosshairs to find the coordinates of the land adjacent to the approximate geographic center of the waterfall. Used Distance Measurement Tool (Google Maps) to find linear extent by measuring from the selected coordinates to the farthest extent of the confluence of the rivers. To find 21 km. northwest offset: input coordinates, linear extent (1416.42 m.), measurement error (.01 m), offset direction (NW), offset distance (21000 m.), and distance precision (100 m.) into the MaNIS Georeferencing Calculator to find the uncertainty radius (according to Georeferencing Quick Reference Guide, Offset: Offset at a heading). Offset coordinates are located very nearby what appears to be a waterfall, assuming it to be Cachoeira Varador.)
