Description:

Shrub to 1.7 m tall; petals pink, reflexed; anthers white; fruits reddish (immature). Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

Moist cloud forest, hurricane damaged. With: Cestrum, Brunellia, Lobelia, Cyathea, Gleichenia, Dicranopteris, Arthrostylidium, Coccoloba, Cyrilla, Baccharis, Magnolia, Palicouria, Clusia, Tabebuia, Ilex, Psychotria, Prestoea, Piper, Ocotea, Turpinia. Locally common.
