Description:

Epiphyte at 2 m; internodes short, 5 cm diam.; cataphylls 40 cm long, pale green, mushy and filled with mucilage, weakly 2-ribbed from opposite margins, weathering to light brown fibers and dark brown epidermis; petioles obtusely flattened-angular adaxially, medium to dark green, conspicuous and minutely warty throughout, matte; blades subcoriaceous, dark green and weakly glossy above, moderately paler and semiglossy below; midrib flattened and slightly paler, matte above, narrowly round-raised, slightly darker and matte below; primary lateral veins quilted-sunken and concolorous above, round-raised, concolorous and matte below; minor veins fine, moderately distinct.
