Description:

hemiepiphyte. pedicel and calyx brownish-maroon; corolla bright red, fading to white at very tip; anthers orange; filaments distinc. Phenology of specimen: Flower.

Habitat:

páramo-elfin forest ecotone; scattered shrubs and Espeletia among grasses on ridge crests; dense shrubbery.
