Description:

Vine in Liquidambar, climbing ca 2 m high, the stem perennial, the prickles dense below, straight, black; leaf blades strongly glaucous below; fruits blue/black, with bloom.
Habitat:

Dune Woodland; dominants include Pinus taeda, Quercus nigra, Ilex opaca and Sassafras albidum.
