Description:

Subshrub to 1.5 m. Leaves rigid, pale green. Calyx pale green, reddish tinged above. Petals bright pink; small calyx lobes, golden yellow within. Phenology of specimen: Flower.
Habitat:

Coastal zone. High forest on sand, giving way to shrubby restinga towards the sea. This plant growing in disturbed restinga near sea.
