Brazil. Bahia. Morro do Chapéu Mun. Summit of Morro do Chapéu. Ca. 8 km SW of the town of Morro do Chapeu to the west of the road to Utinga. D6. Alt. 1000 m. (3281 ft.)

Description:

Shrub to 2 m. Leaves strongly coriaceous, glossy dark green above, rusty grey beneath. Fruit green. Phenology of specimen: Fruit.

Habitat:

Sandstone rocks, with open sand in flatter areas. Open scrub in exposed sites to scattered low woodland & marsh. This plant growing in rocky areas.
