Brazil. Minas Gerais. Serra do Espinhaço, area N Diamantina: on the W- exposed slopes east of the road Diamantina-Biribiri near Córrego Sentinela (locality according to local people: "Banhero Sentinela", next to "Cachoeira da Cristais"), ca. 6,5 km NNW-N Diamantina. Alt. 1100 - 1150 m. (3609 - 3773 ft.)

Description:

Sterile (unfortunately!) shrub of ca. 1 m, with many stems arising from a subterranean, woody structure (called "xylopodium"); (field ovservations from B. Wallnöfer). Phenology of specimen: Sterile.

Campo rupestre.
