Colombia. Nariño. Barbacoas Mun. Reserva Natural del Río Ñambi, ca. 6 km E of Altaquer. Alt. 1440 - 1500 m. (4724 - 4921 ft.)

Description:

Subshrub to 0.75 m. Perianth totally violet-magenta. Common along river edges amongst rocks. Plants pretreated with EtOH.

Habitat:

Mature wet forest that receives ca. 8800 mm rainfall annually. Common along river edges amongst rocks.
